Why You NEED to Crate Train.

Crate training is a vital aspect of dog training often misunderstood by new dog owners. While some may feel guilty about confining their dogs, it's essential to recognize that puppies are similar to inexperienced babies, unfamiliar with the world around them. Just as cribs provide safety for infants, crates offer a secure den-like space for puppies. This training is necessary as it establishes boundaries, introduces structure, and protects

your inexperienced puppy from potential dangers when left alone. Moreover, crate training minimizes stress and accelerates housebreaking. The process, outlined in my step-by-step video, helps your puppy view the crate as a comforting sanctuary, promoting their security and putting your mind at ease.

    Lure your dog into the crate and reward once they are inside. Do not close the door.

  • Step 2

    Sit next to the crate and practice closing the door for short intervals. If your dog is calm, reward them by dropping treats into the back of the crate.

    Establish a positive association with the crate by feeding your dog inside and using it for nap time.

  • Step 4

    Practice leaving the room in short intervals, and only return when your dog is calm. Do not return, and do not let your dog out if they are barking or whining.
